It is unlikely that you will be able to recover the personal items that were stolen. But think about it. Do your REALLY want makeup that the crook had access to?
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:33 pmYour credit card companies will remove the charges from your account and probably back charge the merchant accounts. Hopefully, the police will be able to track down the crook and arrest them.
When your wallet was stolen was your social security number in there. If it was you should call citi back and have then xfer you to their CITS dept. They will help you by contacting the credit card bureaus and its free through them. Citi Identity Theft Solutions.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:33 pmActually there is nothing else for you to do, you’ve already contacted the credit card companys and the police department, you should probably also contact the three credit card bureas to let them know about this situation in case this person tries to use your social security number. If and when the bank catches this person, there is nothing for you to do, it is out of your hand. If they are caught they will be prosecuted. I would also change the locks on your doors at your apartment complex, and let the landlord know immediately. I know it is frustating, and awkward but it’s life things happen, and I know you feel violated. You will have to replace all of those personal things that where in your bag. If you had anything of value, then you can report it to your insurance company, other than that. You will just have to get over it and recover from this. Another thing, if the person was stupid enough to pay their bills online, then they are just that stupid enough to get what they deserve.
