January 21st, 2012 at 11:27 pmi dont understand. children in poor countries with type i diabetes turn into adults with type i diabetes that can still not afford the medication. why does this only support children in need. i was a cute little kid with t1dm also, and guess what, i still have it. my beta cells did not spontaneously regrow. it doesnt goooo away when you are an adult.

January 22nd, 2012 at 3:18 am@DesireeandDiabetes Thanks for your support and feedback! About your question, we actively looked for African Americans in the LA metro with diabetes area as part of our casting process. We didn’t succeed in our efforts, given the time we had in our hands. This obviously means nothing, but in future endeavors we will do our very best to allocate more time for casting, so that we make the final product as inclusive as possible.
January 22nd, 2012 at 3:19 amI cry every time I see this
I hope the next video will be a little more diverse, I’m african american with type 1 diabetes and I’ve never met another african american person with type 1 diabetes, at times I feel like the only one when I know I’m not. It would have been so awesome to see that in this video
otherwise I love it! I watch it often
