File a dispute with whatever bureau
you pulled the report from and place
an alert on your credit. The bureau
    will investigate and determine whether
the items on your report are accurate.

I live in Canada, so I’m not sure if it’s different in the States (if that’s where you live?)… but…
Last year, I had loaned my brother some money off my credit card and then about a week later I got a letter saying that there were some concerns around possible fraud on my credit card from my credit card company. I got the letter before I received my statement so I just assumed that because someone else had accessed my card that was what it was. So I gave my credit card company a call and I was in for a shock!
They went over each and every purchase with me and it turns out that someone had taken my number and gone on a shopping spree at a number of places and had attempted to take money off my card but couldn’t b/c I opted not to have that option put onto my card.
For the most part, your credit card company should be monitoring your account – they get a sense of what is normal spending averages, and if there is anything that looks odd, they should be contacting you. However, having said that, it seems as though they haven’t caught it yet. If you think there is something fishy, contact your credit card company right away and discuss it with them. They will put in a claim to check if the charges are fraud (may take about 2 weeks) and then you should be reimbursed for whichever purchases are not yours, including the subsequent interest charges.
I know it’s stressful, but stay calm – if the purchases aren’t yours, you’ll get the money back. Also, ask your credit company if they monitor your account and how often. If it doesn’t seem like they do or don’t do it enough, switch companies.
    Good luck!
