Can I Get A Free Credit Repair Kit?

The above question, in the eyes of most financial analysts, will bring up a plethora of feelings almost all of which would be negative. Most people believe that the credit repair kit notion is something to be avoided and that any marketing that offers a free kit to help you with repairing your sensitive credit is certainly not offering something that is a functional and realistic part of repairing credit and the like. It is certainly not the opinion of the majority of credit organisations and agencies that items like a free credit repair kit actually serve to repair your credit in the way that it should be repaired. The more conventional methods of financial repair are almost always preferred.

With that in mind, taking a look at the companies that offer a such a very useful kit for your credit often leaves a strange taste in the mouth. It is hard to comprehend that anyone would offer, free of charge mind you, a package of information or supplies that will help with determining the repair and completing the repair of a person’s credit. This is something that often takes years, and yet someone is offering this type of help for free. It seems a little too hard to believe and, in most cases, it is. There are rare exceptions in which someone has actually used free credit assistance to get their credit in order, but one wonders about the validity of those so-called results as well. There is simply no way to know for sure.

What Is A Kit To Help You With Repair?

A free credit repair kit is a kit that promises to help with getting your financial record straight. Credit repair is a term that is used to refer to a systematic process that can rehabilitate a person’s credit and make them worthy of credit once again. This process is generally started by getting copies of a person’s credit reports and checking them over for errors. The credit repair process also includes checking over the credit reports for possible omissions and misleading pieces of information. From this point, the corrections necessary are suggested and a formal dispute process is begun. This process, of course, assumes that there are errors in your credit report to begin with.

Now, most of the free credit repair kit samples merely demonstrate how to do this process. The kits themselves contain templates for documents such as letters to your credit company to obtain your credit report, letters to your credit company to request the deletion of incorrect or erroneous charges and problems, and letters to your credit company to request the addition of positive credit. Again, the free credit repair kit assumes that there are errors on your credit report. The whole foundation of this kit is based on that possibility, but if there are no errors than you are back where you began.

What you Must Know Before Hiring a Credit Repair Company

When you find yourself in deep credit trouble the last thing you need is to be riped off. That is why you must be careful which credit repair agancy you are going to sign up with.

Since all of us have some kind of debt, whether it be credit cards, mortgage or a car loan all of us have credit history. All the loans that you have taken in your life have been reported to the one of the three major credit bureaus.

If you are like most off the people you will not care much for that until you get your first rejection notice. At first most off us blame someone in the bank or in the credit bureau for this rejection. But after the second, third and the following rejection notices have been received you start to question what is wrong.

After some time you start thinking about your credit score, usually because a friend or a family member have told you about their own credit problems. By then the chance is that your credit has dropped soo much, you will have a very hard time getting a loan with good rates. Forget about buying a new home, car or even renting an apartment.

When you get stuck in this kind of financial trouble you need to start with bad credit repair. At first you might get overwhelmed by the complex terms used by credit repair experts. You will also find many, many ads offering quick, even over night credit fix.

Do not buy in to that!

Credit repair takes time even for reputable companies. One of the reasons why you must be careful is that most of these new companies will not do anything for you that you can not do by yourself with a little help. They will try to convince you that what they do is something beyond your understanding, but in 90% of the cases you can do everything they do and do it better.

What will they do?

1. They will request a credit report from either Equifax or one of the other two major credit reporting agencies.

2. Then they are going to try and challenge any negative items on your credit report.

All that you can do by yourself. Basic idea behind this strategy is not to correct any possible mistakes on your credit report but to use the law which states that all the demands for investigation must be answered to in 30 days.

Since there is just no possible way for credit bureaus to investigate all of the demands, many items must be removed from credit reports no matter if they are correct or not.

This strategy can look really clever at first, but the credit bureau have every right to return the negative items back in your credit report once they investigate it.

So you have two choices here, with first you can hire a credit repair company to do all the work for you and the second is to do all the work yourself. If you do decide to hire a credit repair company, be sure to hire a reputable company, you can find a list of good credit repair companies on our site.

In the recent years there has been a flood of new sprung companies trying to make a buck by ripping people off with bad credit repair service.

Three things you must know and do:

1. You are under no obligation to pay for anything in advance. All the services promised by a credit repair companies must be rendered before you have to pay them.

2. They have to specify in advance all of the services they will provide you with.

3. Carefully read the complete contract. Do not skip anything. If you need to take it home and read it over several times, do it. Read it until you understand every single item in the contract.

Credit repair companies are excellent way towards repairing your credit, just make sure to hire a company that has been in the business for a long time and has many satisfied costumers to verify their record.

Hiring a good service will definitely shorten the time in which you will improve your credit rating and is defiantly going to save you a lot of time and patience you will need if you decide to go through it alone.

Credit Repair: The Way to Turn Your Bad Credit History Around

Many Americans have what would be considered ‘bad’ credit. Fortunately, credit repair is attainable for everyone and some people are even able to raise their FICO scores over 100 points in less than a year by using these methods. And, in the world of credit scores, 100 points can be the difference between getting turned down for every credit card out there or getting a nice limit credit card from a prime level bank. So, just how can one raise their FICO scores? Below is a list of the most common repair methods.

Disputing Old or Inaccurate Accounts

Disputing old or inaccurate accounts is an essential part of credit repair because it can completely eliminate negative accounts from your credit report. How does this happen? Because if an account cannot be verified by an original creditor or validated by a collection company (where they must fully and completely, without doubt, prove that the account is yours), then it must be deleted from your credit report within 30 days of your dispute. If an account is inaccurate, then there is a chance that the company will not be able to validate the account. This can also be true of old accounts since the records may not have been kept, especially on negative accounts that have been paid.

Since FICO groups consumers into different categories (i.e those with a bankruptcy), you may actually see a drop in your FICO score during credit repair, when you lose an account or public record, if you have been moved into a different category. This category should be better for your credit profile than the last, even though your score has dropped. Your score may also drop if you lose very old account, since it was helping with the total average age of all of your accounts. In either case, your credit repair is working regardless of what your FICO score says. As many who have used credit repair methods say: It is better to have ‘clean’ reports with lower scores, then higher scores with ‘baddies’ on your reports.

Building a Positive Credit Profile

Another essential part of credit repair is adding good, positive accounts to your credit profile. This should give your FICO score a nice boost in the beginning, if you currently had no positive accounts. After so many accounts, you will begin to see a FICO score drop when a new account is open, due to the average age of the accounts on your credit report. However, as mentioned above, your score will rebound nicely as these accounts gather some age. This part of credit repair will still be shinning up your overall credit profile, even though it does not seem like it.

Letting Negative Accounts Age

On negative accounts that just won’t budge with credit repair methods (usually the case with government-owned accounts, such as student loans), your only course of action may be to just wait it out. This usually means 7 years for a credit item and 7-10 years for a public record item.

If you work hard enough at credit repair, you will see changes in your credit situation before you know it. For some with very bad reports, your scores may not change overnight but things will get better. Doing something within the realm of credit repair is better than doing nothing and, the more you know about credit and credit repair, the more equipped you will be to bounce back from your credit past.

Credit Repair and the American Dream

A Great Investment

Home ownership has always been considered an integral part of the American Dream. Over the last fifty years those that were able to realize this dream have experienced a great financial benefit. Home ownership, in fact, has contributed more to the wealth of the individual than any other investment. But there is another side to home ownership; it is also the most significant financial obligation that most people will ever undertake. If managed properly home ownership can be a source of great pleasure. If mismanaged, the results can be devastating.

Better Rate More Choice

I have helped people repair and restore their credit reports since 1989. The most common concern amongst our customers has always been the impact that their credit report will have on the mortgage application process. The relationship between your credit and your mortgage is simple; the better your credit, the lower your interest rate and the more choice you will have among mortgage programs.

The Potential of Credit Repair

If you have had credit issues in the past it is essential to your financial life that you have a very clear understanding of how credit repair can help get you back on solid financial ground again. To understand the potential of credit repair there is a myth that needs to be dispelled. This myth is that you are the only one who can repair your own credit. This is a line that was originally promulgated by the credit bureaus and is now parroted by others.

Can You Do it Yourself?

The motivation of the credit bureaus to sell the do-it-yourself campaign was obvious to those of us in the credit repair business. The credit bureaus are well aware of the fact that the vast majority of individuals that undertake the effort to repair their own credit do not have the time or tenacity to understand the system. And without a proper understanding most people will quit out of frustration, or give up believing that they have done everything that can be done. Either way, the credit bureaus will save time and money.

The Role of the Credit Repair Professional

All professions provide the benefit of a mastery of their own field. Although it is certainly true that you could repair your own credit, it is equally true that you could make your own clothes or repair your own car. The economy thrives on the diversity of expertise that is offered in the marketplace. Those that do not have the time or energy to do the extensive research needed to do a job properly can hire someone else to do the work for them. A credit repair professional offers the benefit of his experience in dealing with the three credit bureaus, creditors, and collection agencies. He should also have an in depth understanding of everything that can have an impact on your credit score.

Improving Your Credit Scores

Would you like to purchase a home or refinance to a lower interest rate? The mortgage that you are able to obtain will be entirely dependant on the content of your credit report. As a credit repair professional I speak to people daily who have been told that they either cannot qualify for a mortgage due to their credit, or only qualify for a very expensive sub-prime mortgage. In our examination of their credit reports we often discover that there are a significant number of errors that are depressing their credit scores dramatically.

Putting Your Credit to Work for You

Much of the misreported information that appears on credit reports goes unrecognized. Items such as duplicate accounts, understated high credit limits, and misstated account opening dates are often ignored because they are not derogatory per se. These items along with the obvious erroneous derogatory information can all be cleaned up. And the results can make the difference between an affordable mortgage and a stressful monthly payment.

Choose Carefully

The American Dream is achievable and it depends on your credit. If you have the time and inclination to learn credit repair yourself you should make the effort. If you do not feel up to the task you should hire someone to get the job done for you. And, in making the decision you should remember the potential impact that your credit can have on your life. You work hard for your money. Make sure that your credit works just as hard for you.

Should I Hire a Credit Repair Company?

Unfortunately, many people who have bad credit don’t even know that hiring a credit repair company is an option. Just as unfortunate is the fact that many people who know that credit repair companies exist, think they are all scams. Many consumers also confuse them with credit counseling services and debt consolidation services; which they are not. Well, I happen to know of some great credit repair companies, so I am here to set the record straight!

You should really only consider hiring a credit repair company if you have multiple collection accounts, charge offs or public records such as judgments, repossessions, foreclosures and bankruptcies. If you only have a few bad accounts on your credit report, you should try contacting the credit bureaus and creditors yourself. You should also work on rebuilding your credit if you don’t have many or any positive accounts reporting.

I would suggest choosing a well-known agency from online, but if you decide to go local, make sure to check with your local Better Business Bureau and state attorney general for any filed complaints. The upfront set up fees should be very minimal. Under the Credit Repair Organizations act, a credit repair company is not permitted to charge before they provide any services. This one of the most important things to consider when hiring a credit repair company because it ensures that you won’t be out a lot of money if they are unable to repair your credit.

Credit repair companies must follow specific guidelines from the Credit Repair Organizations Act. Congress introduced the CROA in 1996 to protect consumers from unfair and deceptive business practices and advertising by credit repair organizations. It’s wise to at least browse over the CROA before hiring a credit repair company.

Find a well-known, respected credit repair company online or visit the credit repair authority site to learn how to repair credit yourself.

Credit Repair the Whole Story

250x250 - What’s Your Credit Score?

The Real Problem with Disputes

Credit bureau disputes are the essential backbone of every successful credit repair program. And almost without exception it is necessary to start the process with these disputes. But if your efforts are confined only to disputing your issues with the credit bureaus you are virtually guaranteed to be disappointed.

Hitting the Credit Repair Wall

If you send a dispute letter to the credit bureaus you will receive a response back within thirty days or so. You might be excited to see that some of the problem items have been removed. You are also likely to see that some of the items that you have questioned have been verified. This can be frustrating. What is the next step? You might think that a second dispute is in order, and you may be right. Or you may be wrong. Read carefully. Has the credit bureau asked you to address all future inquiries to the original creditor? If so you may discover that additional credit bureau disputes produce no results.

Moving On

Many consumers in search of professional credit repair services will find an ample supply of credit repair companies offering a basic low cost program that consists entirely of credit bureau disputes. What happens to this consumer when the credit bureaus ask you to direct future inquiries to the original creditor? There are two possibilities.

The End of the Road

If you sign up for a credit repair program that only offers credit bureau disputes there is almost zero likelihood that you will end up as a satisfied customer. After the first round of disputes you may get few additional results. Or, if the company that you have chosen does offer additional levels of service you will probably find it necessary to upgrade to a more expensive version of the program in order to get the results that you desire. The truth is that the dispute only version of the program should never have been offered.

An Honest Approach

Remember that I started by saying that credit bureau disputes are the essential backbone of every successful credit repair program. It is so. In fact, it’s absolutely logical to start your dispute process with the credit bureaus. But to stop there would be like putting your socks on and then imagining that you are fully dressed. A truly effective credit repair program will seamlessly move from credit bureau disputes to creditors as a natural part of the process. Collection agencies can be challenged as needed in the same way.

The Educated Consumer

Credit Repair can and will produce fantastic results if done in a competent and comprehensive manner. Would you go to dinner at a restaurant that only cooks the food half way? Would you hire an auto mechanic that takes your engine apart but doesn’t quite put it back together again? Of course not! Make sure that your credit repair company will complete the job that you hired them for.

A Smooth Process

It is our opinion that a credit repair program should be inclusive of every step that is necessary to produce the final desired result. And the credit repair professional should be armed with every tool needed to do the job. We believe that the process should be offered as a unified whole. Our customers hire us for the most important reasons in the world. Their goals are inseparable from the quality of their financial life. We believe that credit should be taken seriously.

Beyond the Dispute

A comprehensive dispute process encompassing the credit bureaus, creditors, and even collection agencies is essential for success. But it is also equally imperative that these activities occur in the context of a complete understanding of both the credit scoring model and the way creditors view credit in making a decision. I cannot emphasize this enough! A good credit repair company always has their customer’s goals in mind. You do not want to complete a credit repair program and discover that your scores have suffered or that you don’t meet lenders criteria for credit content. When selecting a credit repair company make sure that they have the universal perspective that will produce the real results that you want. It turns out that the details can make all of the difference in the world.

Credit Repair: Act Now

There is a Lot at Stake

Are you a sub-prime borrower? Chances are that you have had credit issues in the past. There are many reasons for you to make credit repair an immediate priority in your life. There are also many reasons that you might hesitate. Credit reports are not fun to read. Past credit issues are not fun to think about. But there is a lot at stake. Consider hiring a credit repair professional to help you through the process. You can regain control over your own life.

Sub-Prime Financing an Overview

Sub-prime mortgage financing has gotten a bit of a bad rap recently as home values have moderated and borrowers have been unable to escape the inevitable rate increase that is built into the vast majority of sub-prime mortgages. There has been a fair amount of financial hardship blamed on the sub-prime mortgage industry. But there is more to the sub-prime market than meets the eye.

The Benefits

Did you know that over 20 percent of all mortgages originated from 2004 through 2006 were sub-prime mortgages? The sub-prime mortgage industry was developed to accommodate the enormous number of Americans that, due largely to bad credit, could not qualify for traditional home financing. Home ownership is a legitimate and valuable financial goal. And sub-prime financing made it possible for an amazing number of Americans to own homes.

Reality Sets In

Are you facing an interest rate increase? It is true that the sub-prime market has largely evaporated. But there is still hope. Forget the mortgage market and turn your attention to yourself. It’s time to become very proactive about your own credit report. And it is absolutely essential that you act immediately. Please don’t neglect this advice. I am well aware that a large number of people with credit issues feel completely helpless. The thought of consulting a credit repair professional may seem pointless. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Credit Repair Can Save Your Life

I have provided credit repair services to people for a very long time. I speak from experience. Almost without exception people are amazed at the impact that a competent credit repair professional can have on their credit scores, the content of their credit report, and on their ability to completely transform their financial life. When I say that credit repair can save your life I am totally serious. It can also save your house. It can save you tens of thousands of dollars. It can bring you confidence and the long lost knowledge that you have control over your own life.

It’s Your Life

I know that you do not want to be dependant on the availability of sub-prime financing. It is time to take action. The first step is to consult a credit repair professional. You might be surprised to hear that your past credit problems are probably not the sole, or for that matter, the largest factor in your low credit scores. There are a terrible number of errors ranging from subtle misreporting to obvious redundancy that plague consumers and damage their credit scores. The first step in an effective credit repair program is to identify every single one of these issues and eliminate them. But there is more.

Credit Score & Credit Content

Real credit repair requires an intimate knowledge of the impact that every item on your report can have on your credit score. A credit repair professional will make sure that everything that can be done to improve your scores is being done correctly. You cannot afford to ignore anything. The impact of a competent and complete credit repair effort is amazing. Innumerable people start credit repair programs with a skeptical attitude and end up as true believers.

You Have the Power

You have the power to transform your own life. Please don’t believe that because you have made late payments in the past that you are destined to live a life of financial gloom. If you take action to repair your credit you will discover a whole new world of possibilities. Just put one foot in front of the other. Seek the advice of a credit repair professional. When the time comes to refinance your mortgage you will discover that you have more choice than you ever thought. You can make it happen.
